The BEST Rice Krispies Treats you will EVER eat… I promise!

Rice Krispies Treats were a household favorite when I was growing up.  It seriously boggled my mind when people told me they didn't like Rice Krispies Treats or worse… NEVER had them!  Are you serious??  Who has never had a Rice Krispie Treat??  Well, after eating other people's Rice Krispies Treats I completely understand.  They are dry and so very unappetizing as if you were eating cardboard.  Don't get me started on the pre-packaged kind you can buy at the store… just gross!  No offense to those who made it the way it says on the box… you just didn't know!

So please take ten minutes out of your day and make these.  They are so very easy, and your kids and your husband will forever thank you.  That is if you can stop yourself from eating the whole pan before they get their hands on them!

And I must say this is not my recipe.  It is my mom's.  Thanks mom!

Recipe:
(It is much like the recipe on the box just doubled with more butter and more marshmallows)

6 tablespoons butter
1 10oz. package regular marshmallows
1 16oz. package regular marshmallows
12 cups Rice Krispies

1.  Melt butter over low heat.  Add marshmallows until melted.  Stir often.
2.  Add Rice Krispies and stir until well blended.
3.  Press into  greased 9x13 pan.  Use wax paper or better yet the wrapper to the butter to press into pan.  Cut into squares and enjoy the deliciousness!

A Simple Life

I am an Army wife now.  Never in my wildest dreams did I EVER imagine that I would marry a man in the Army.  It just wasn't the life I had pictured for myself.  However, God did.

We have been married for a mere two months now and have a lot of hardships headed our way, but I am so very thankful.  Thankful that I married a man who followed God's plan instead of running the other way.  Thankful that I married a man who pursued the girl he loved despite leaving for the Army in TEN days.  Thankful that I married a man who is showing me what it is like to live a simple life full of love.  I am not privileged to buy my favorite clothes from Anthro or my Chanel make-up anymore. I do love and miss those things… but oh how fleeting they are!  I miss my family and my friends dearly, but how lovely it is to be in this new city with my husband, just the two of us, making our own way in our new and simple lives together.

So it is the simple things in life that truly make me happy.  It is God's grace.  Being with my sweet, loving husband.  Pumpkins in the fall.  Getting a card from a friend just because.  The crackling warmth of a fire.  The laughter of my nephew.  S'mores. Cool, crisp weather.  Back scratches.  Good music. Picnics.  Candles.  Sunflower fields.  Photographs.  The smell of peonies.  Memories.

I am definitely not a writer, nor a poet, nor a cook, nor a photographer, nor a theologian, nor a expert on anything really. I am just here having fun... Hope you ENJOY!
